Twelve Years Strong

Camera tech is moving at a very fast pace. Even within the last five years the leaps and bounds have been enormous within the imaging division. Almost all companies have abandoned DSLR’s in favor of mirrorless tech (for very good reasons). Only weirdos and freaks now cling to a camera that uses a single reflex mirror within this digital age. Somehow I feel semi proud to be one among those photography rejects. Don’t get me wrong, I too have succumbed to the mirrorless ways through my Fuji XT4 and I enjoy every benefit that system brings to my imaging medium… but I can’t help feel that because I have held onto draconian digital tech that I somehow navigated these seas to become a well rounded and satisfied tog for a broad range of photographic pursuits that suits my mood.

Yesterday I met up with a devoted Pentax user from Western Australia who was passing through Sydney, a chance for some drinks with additional other like minded photographers. We drank, we took pics and we had fun.

I had not properly submitted my 2010 Pentax 645D to the city of Sydney and the following images are all that pertain to that.

You can take your modern tech and shove it! Seriously… it sincerely amazes me that a camera from 2010 can still perform to this degree and hold its own against the gazillion dollar giants in 2022.
Go PENTAX.
